Adding articles to your reading list via the new article link forces you to cut and paste the web page link as well as typing in the title of the article which is a lot of typing.

So to save time you can use what is called a bookmarklet which is a kind of a bookmark you can add to your browsers bookmark menu. The neat thing about the bookmarklet is that you can click on it from any web page and it will automatically fill in the details of the page location and title for you. So reading stuff latrz is just two clicks!

Installing the bookmarklet

To install the bookmark you first need to show the bookmarks toolbar in your browser. This depends on your browser

The bookmark toolbar should appear below the forward/back/home icons and address entry field near the top of the browser window.

Once the bookmark toolbar is visible, drag this Read Latrz link onto your bookmarks toolbar in a gap between, before or after any existing bookmarks.

If you are struggling to drag the bookmarklet onto your bookmarks bar you could try copying this link Read Latrz (try right clicking on it) then add the bookmark manually via your browsers Bookmarks or Favourites pull down menu

If you are using Safari or Firefox 3.x you might want to try the popup version of the bookmarklet; though this tends to appear behind the current window in some browsers such as Firefox 2.x. Here is the popup version: Read Latrz

Now login using your Google account

Using the bookmarket

When you are on a web page you find interesting but don't have time to read right now, click the Read Latrz link in your bookmarks bar to add it to your reading list.

Notice how the web page that appears has the link and web page title entered for you. If you want you can add a description or some tags. Then submit the article.

You will now be sent to your personal reading list.
